Covid Art 92: EB 1895 Abstract Knowledge

One more example of the power and resilience of the Encyclopedia Britannica 125 years after it was published. The mixed media hides the content and is companied by an enigmatic boy and girl, (they appear to be siblings) in an antique photographic process that turned the image slightly blue over time. The two figures are both real (once!) and abstractions of a time so different from our own that it is hard to comprehend that it was just 3-4 generations ago.
